According to producer Rob Cavallo who produced albums for My Chemical Romance, Green Day, and Goo Goo Dolls, Bob Bryar was let go from MCR as he was “obstructing their creative process.”

He was the sole drummer to have survived the longest with the band from 2004 to 2010.

Bob in a 2016 recalled that he was mainly the sound engineer for another group The Used while they were touring in 2004. There he said that he became friends with the band members of MCR.

He claimed that he left a lucrative touring deal where he was tour managing and doing sound to join a band that was not only poor but did not even have proper gear and their van was a death trap.

He said he was really happy to receive the offer as he had heard of My Chemical Romance and knew they were special so he wanted in.

Bryar played the drums and was the sound engineer for the band. He was an integral part of My Chemical Romance’s final two albums and their biggest hit and their memorable song, “The Black Parade”.

Although he was not a part of the group, he was nonetheless involved in their compilation album, “Conventional Weapons” (2013).

He left My Chemical Romance in 2010. The punk rock band disbanded in 2013.

Bob Bryar had at that time replaced the founder drummer of My Chemical Romance Matt Pelissier soon after their second album was released.

Born as Robert Cory Bryar on 31 December 1979 in Chicago, Bob began playing the drums from an early age.

He performed with his school marching band and went on to study to become a sound engineer at the University of Florida.

The musician died at the age of 44.
