Reality personality Anna Cardwell, best known as the daughter of Mama June Shannon and sister of Alana Thompson ” Here Comes Honey Boo’ has died after a battle with cancer, said her family.
She was 29.
In January, Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma.
Cardwell breathed her last at 11:12pm on Saturday at her mother’s home in Milledgeville, Georgia “according to a statement by Gina Rodriguez, report CNN and US Today.
Her girls, all her sisters, her husband, and close family were at her side at that time, said Gina Rodriguez, the family’s manager.
On Sunday, Cardwell’s mother June Shannon wrote on Instagram that Cardwell died Saturday night after battling cancer, and she gave one hell of a fight for 10 months.
In a statement, family manager Gina Rodriguez requests prayers for the family as they try to process their great loss and make arrangements during this difficult time.
Cardwell left behind two daughters, who shared with her husband Eldridge Toney.
“ My sister was in so much pain on Saturday night but she is at peace now as a family we all know now,” Thompson wrote in an Instagram post.
Posting a heartfelt tribute to her oldest sister, Thompson said she didn’t know what to say as her heart was completely broken.
Cardwell never made a public statement about her cancer diagnosis but spoke about her battle on Instagram and TikTok throughout this year.
The Reality-TV personality told her TikTok followers in November that she was doing “pretty good” and had recently completed radiation treatment and autoimmune therapy.
Cardwell was a regular on the TLC reality show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” from 2012 to 2014. She starred alongside her sister in the reality show.
TLC canceled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” in 2014, but members of the family went on to pursue WE tv franchise centered on Shannon and other reality projects.
