How was Messi discovered?

Argentine footballer Lionel Messi, who plays as a forward for Major League Soccer club Inter Miami, was scouted by FC Barcelona at the age of 12 while he was playing for his local club, Newell’s Old Boys.

Messi, who started playing football as a boy, joined the youth team of Newell’s Old Boys in 1995. Messi and his family moved to Barcelona when he was in 1995.

He quickly rose through the ranks as he has been able to impress everyone with excellent talent and skills.

The Argentina star started playing for the under-14 team of FC Barcelona.

Messi earned 21 goals in 14 games for the junior team.

Until the age of 16, the football star rapidly graduated through the higher-level teams.

The Argentine made his first senior appearance for the club at the age of 17 and became a vigorous player for the Blaugranas.

Messi, who now plays captain for the Argentina national team, was given his informal debut with FC Barcelona in a friendly match.

Born in Argentina’s Rosario in 1987, Messi holds a record eight Ballon d’Or awards. The Argentinean footballer has always been destined for greatness and displayed his talent early on.

He brought 10 La Liga titles, four Champions League crowns, seven Copa del Rey trophies and other various titles during his 17-year career with Barcelona.

With an incredible 474 goals to his name, Messi is also the all-time leading scorer in La Liga.  

The football star left the Spanish club in 2021 to join French powerhouse Paris Saint Germain.

 Messi also played two years before joining Inter Miami in the MLS.
