Is Deepika Padukone full Indian?

Indian actress and model Deepika Padukone, who works predominantly in Hindi films, is the daughter of former badminton champion Prakash Padukone while her mother Ujjala is a travel agent.

She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, to Konkani-speaking Indian parents on January 5, 1986.

Anisha, her younger sister, is a golfer while Ramesh, her paternal grandfather, was a secretary of the Mysore Badminton Association.

When Deepika Padukone was one year old, her family relocated to India’s Bangalore.

A graduate of Bangalore’s Sophia High School, she completed her pre-university education at Mount Carmel College.

After enrolling at the Indira Gandhi National Open University for a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology, she dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with her modelling career.

The actress got a relationship with her frequent co-star Ranveer Singh and began dating in August 2012. The couple announced their awaiting marriage in October 2018.

The duo married in traditional Konkani Hindu and Sikh Anand Karaj ceremonies at Italy’s Lake Como the following month.

Both announced on Instagram in February 2024 that the couple were expecting their first child. However, the actress gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday (8 September 2024).

The Bollywood actors, who became parents to a baby girl, shared the happy news in a heartfelt post on Instagram. In a joint post, the couple wrote, “Welcome baby girl. 8-9-2024. Deepika & Ranveer.”
