US professional basketball player Jaxson Reed Hayes, popularly known as Jaxson Hayes, still played for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Hayes, who signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on July 6, 2023, also played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns.
Hayes’s father Jonathan Hayes, who was the head coach of the XFL’s St Louis BattleHawks, played in the NFL. His mother Kristi (Kinne) played basketball at Drake University in 1991–95. She earned Kodak All-American, an award given to outstanding high school and college athletes in the US, accolades.
Jaxson Hayes has three siblings– Jillian, Jewett, and Jonah.
On July 28, 2021, the Los Angeles Police Department arrested Hayes. Later the arrest was resisted. Police officers were investigating a domestic dispute between Hayes and his girlfriend.
Jaxson Hayes was treated for minor injuries before being taken into custody.
He attended Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and took part in the Junior International Tournament (JIT), in Lissone, Italy in 2018.
Jaxson committed to play college basketball the University of Texas
He averaged 10.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game as a freshman at Texas while shooting 72.8% from the field.
Hayes, who scored a career-high 19 points along with seven boards, injured his left knee in a loss to Kansas in a tournament.
The basketball player on April 11, 2019 declared for the NBA draft, losing his remaining three years of eligibility.
