Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has been diagnosed with “skin cancer”, several months after sharing that she had “beat breast cancer”.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Ferguson, 64, the ex-wife of King Charles’ brother Prince Andrew, disclosed the “shock” diagnosis.

Ferguson said she was in shock after she was diagnosed with skin cancer, malignant melanoma, which is the latest health issue for a member of Britain’s royal family.

The health issue comes after she underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery following the discovery of her breast cancer last June, which was a routine mammogram screening.

Saying she had been “taking some time to myself” following the “shock” diagnosis, Sarah in the post also wrote that she is feeling grateful for the support and many messages of love.

Moreover, she conveyed incredibly thankful to the medical teams that have supported her through both of these experiences with cancer.

“I am now resting at home with her family,” said the duchess, well known by the nickname “Fergie”.

Her cancer diagnosis comes at a time when, several days back, Kate, the Princess of Wales and wife of the heir to the throne Prince William, underwent abdominal surgery. Besides, Charles revealed to go into hospital this week for treatment for an enlarged prostate.

Ferguson has forged a new career as a successful author since her divorce from Andrew in 1996.

However, she remains close to her husband Prince Andrew. Even, they still share the same family home in Windsor.

She is back in the UK after initially recuperating in Austria, according to sources close to the duchess.
