Selena Gomez, David Henrie to reunite in Wizards of Waverly Place sequel

Selena Gomez and David Henrie, who played Alex and Justin in the original show that debuted in 2007, are officially working together on a “Wizards of Waverly Place” sequel, reports ABC News.
Disney Branded Television announced on Thursday that the two former stars of the hit Disney Channel show will executive produce and appear in a new pilot episode serving as “Wizards of Waverly Place sequel to the flagship series.
The pilot for the sequel has already been greenlit, Disney Branded Television also revealed. Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas have written it. Gary Marsh and Andy Fickman, who is slated to direct, produced executive.
Gomez will be featured in a guest-starring role as Alex and Henrie will reprise his role as Justin. The cast will also include Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, and Mimi Gianopulos.
“The Russo’s are excited to become a part of your family, once again, but we’ve grown,” wrote Henrie in the caption of a TikTok video he shared Thursday.
He also said the year magic comes back in 2024.

Wizards of Waverly Place, an American fantasy teen sitcom, aired on Disney Channel for four seasons between October 2007 and January 2012. Todd J. Greenwald has created the sequel.
Gomez and Henrie starred in the series where Jake T Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera, and David DeLuise also starred.
The series centres on Alex Russo (Selena Gomez), who undertakes training alongside her siblings. Justin (David Henrie) and Max (Jake T. Austin) are also equipped with magical abilities.
