The hit single by Logic “1-800-273-8255”, featuring Khalid and Alessia Cara in April 2017 hit the third highest on the Billboard Hot 100, ending up as Khalid’s highest-charting single to date.
Born as Khalid Donnel Robinson on February 11, 1998, in Fort Stewart, Georgia to military parents, the American singer-songwriter from El Paso, Texas, spent his childhood in various locations since his mother worked for the military.
Before settling down in Texas, he grew up in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Fort Drum, Watertown, New York, and six years in Heidelberg, Germany due to the careers of his parents.
Khalid began writing and making music right from his high school days at Carthage Central High School in Carthage, New York and Americas High School in El Paso. He used to publish his early music on SoundCloud.
One of his better-known numbers is “Lovely” by Billie Eilish which featured Khalid.
Khalid released his debut album, American Teen, on March 3, 2017 while he was 19. The album went to become number 9 on the Billboard album charts, following the success of the hit single “Location.”
In 2019, he became the most listened-to global artist on Spotify, with 50.4 million monthly listeners surpassing pop sensation Ariana Grande at the time.
This came after the release of his second studio album, Free Spirit.
The singer on November 22 opened up about his sexuality after someone outed him, he said in a series of posts on X.
The 26-year-old Grammy-nominated singer on April 5, 2024, released the single “Please Don’t Fall in Love with Me”.
It was the first single for his third album, Sincere, released on August 2, 2024.
