Nora Aunor, a Filipino actress, recording artist, and film producer, passed away on April 16 at 71. She worked in theatre, radio, television, concerts, and film.

Her latest movies from 2015 to 2023 were Pieta (2023) directed by Adolfo Alix Jr, while Ligalig (2022) directed by Topel Lee, Kontrabida (2021) directed by Adolfo Alix Jr, Isa Pang Bahaghari (2020) by Joel Lamangan and Trap (2015).

Some films released in 2016 are Padre de Familia, Whistleblower and Laro directed by Adolfo Alix Jr, while Tuos by Derick Cabrido, Kabisera by Arturo San Agustin and Real Florido, and Hinulid by Kristian Cordero.

Nora began her career as a singer but finally moved towards movies. She made over 175 movies in more than 45 years.

The movie icon and National Artist for Film and Broadcast passed away on April 16. She was 71.

The “Superstar” had been battling health complications that gradually drew her away from doing public appearances.

Born in Cabaltera Villamayor, Nora’s influence spanned generations, starting with her rise as a singing contest champion in the 1960s.

She would go on to become one of the most revered and decorated performers in Philippine cinema history.

Her performances received her critical commendation and the distinction of being “widely regarded as the greatest actress of her time.”
