US President-elect Donald Trump will officially become the 47th president of the United States on Monday [January 20].
Trump’s second inauguration day will begin with musical performances and opening remarks, which are set to begin at 09:30 EST (14:30 GMT).
Later, Trump and Vance will be sworn in inside the Capitol rotunda where each man will place their hand on a book.
This year, Donald Trump will use two Bibles for swearing in as the US president.
Among them, one is a personal Bible given to him by his mother in 1955 while the second is the historic Lincoln Bible, a velvet-bound volume used at President Abraham Lincoln’s inauguration in 1861.
Vance will also swear on a personal Bible received from his maternal great-grandmother.
Then, Trump will deliver the inaugural address in which he will begin his goals for the next four years.
Later, he will go to the president’s room to sign key documents. Trump later will attend a lunch. Later, a parade is supposed to be held from the Capitol building down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House, but this year, it ios not clear over the parade.
Later, the new US president will appear at three inaugural balls — the Commander-in-Chief Ball, the Liberty Inaugural Ball and the Starlight Ball.
Meanwhile, on Saturday evening, Trump returned to Washington to celebrate with family, supporters and political allies ahead of the second inauguration.
