Christie Sides, an American basketball head coach, played her first two seasons at University of Mississippi under Van Chancellor, Hall of Fame Head Coach.
Later, she finished her playing career for Hall of Fame Coach Leon Barmore at Louisiana Tech.
The coaching change came from another Women’s NBA team after the Indiana Fever said on Sunday that they “parted ways” with Christie Sides.
Indiana Fever is coming out of the franchise’s first playoff berth since 2016. Caitlin Clark led the team.
Sides was their head coach for two years. Under her, Indiana went 33-47 and of them, a 20-20 was recorded in 2024.
In the first round of the playoffs, the season finished for Indiana Fever with a two-game sweep by the Connecticut Sun.
Indiana is the sixth team to take such a decision this off-season, joining Los Angeles, Washington, Dallas, Atlanta, and Chicago. All of the coaches who were let go had three years of experience or less.
Sides was hired after Fever replaced Marianne Stanley in 2022 and Carlos Knox, her temporary successor.
On a four-year contract, Christie had two more remaining seasons.
Since Lin Dunn back in 2008-14, Fever had not have a head coach longer than three seasons.
