Serbian professional tennis player Novak Djokovic owns 24 Grand Slam titles while Spanish professional tennis player Rafael Nadal owns 22. The two highest men’s totals in the sport’s history are both tennis players.

Djokovic, 37, and Nadal, 38, have been ranked number 1. No pair of men has played each other more in the professional era—both the players two-thirds of the so-called big three of men’s tennis, along with Roger Federer. Roger retired with 20 Slam titles.

The Big Three, which is a common nickname in tennis for the trio, each considered to be among the greatest players of all time. Collectively winning 66 major singles tournaments, they dominated men’s singles tennis for two decades.

The trio has been ranked as world number one in singles for a total of 947 weeks. Djokovic is famous for a record 428 weeks while Federer for 310 and Nadal for 209.

As the year-end number one player every year from 2004 to 2023, one of the three finished the season. The three jointly captured the top three positions eight times. The years are 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2018, and 2019.

Recently, Djokovic and Nadal met at the net and hugged after they played at the Paris Olympics in the 60th instalment of a record-breaking.

This victory (6-1, 6-4) for Djokovic came in the second round of the Summer Games. After ceding 10 of the initial 11 games, Nadal’s final was briefly competitive.

Subsequently, neither Nadal nor Djokovic was eager to concede, as they will not play each other again.
