Jeffrey Goldberg, who currently serves as editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, is one of the most influential figures in American journalism. Goldberg is also the moderator of Washington Week With The Atlantic.
Goldberg became known for his coverage of foreign affairs during his nine years at The Atlantic before becoming editor.
While continuing as The Atlantic’s editor, the US renowned journalist became moderator of the PBS program Washington Week in August 2023.
As a national correspondent, Jeffrey Goldberg joined the Washington Week in 2007 and assumed his current role in 2016.
The Washington-based magazine achieved historic milestones under his leadership. The achievement set audience and subscription records and won its first Pulitzer Prize.
These actions led the magazine to receive the National Magazine Award for General Excellence in 2022, 2023, and 2024. The award is the highest honour awarded by the American Society of Magazine Editors.
Before joining The Atlantic, Goldberg’s career was equally distinguished.
The journalist, who served as Middle East correspondent and later Washington correspondent for The New Yorker, was also a writer for The New York Times Magazine.
Goldberg authored 15 cover stories for The New York Times Magazine. He started his journalism career as a police reporter at The Washington Post.

His name became trending on Google searches as US President Donald Trump’s administration accidentally texted the renowned journalist about plans for military strikes in Yemen.
Meanwhile, the White House confirmed that a journalist was included in the text group.
The Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg also admitted that US national-security leaders included him in a chat group about highly sensitive plans for bombing Yemen.
The journalist however considered it as fake, saying he did not think it could be real, but later the bombs started falling.
