Karmelo Anthony, 17, is an accused who critically stabbed 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at the District 11-5A track meet at Frisco’s David Kuykendall Stadium.

The teenage boy walked out of the Collin County jail around 4:20pm on Monday after his bond was significantly lowered.

He was put on house arrest with an ankle monitor.

District Judge Angela Tucker lowered his bond from $1 million to $250,000 after a hearing at the county courthouse in McKinney.

Anthony was released from the jail silently. His side saw a few people, but his parents were not with him.

Anthony was in the bar for the murder since he was arrested on April 2.

Earlier, the teen told police he was acting in self-defense.

Anthony will be allowed to leave home only with permission and needs to be with an adult at all times.

He will not be permitted to contact the family of Metcalf, including on social media.

On Monday, the court measured several factors about his release.

The factors include age, lack of a criminal history, close friends, and a football coach. A manager from one of his part-time jobs was present during the hearing.

Greg Willis, the Collin County district attorney, said Anthony would face trial after a hearing reviewing police investigation and presenting the case to a grand jury.

According to Mike Howard, he feels the judge’s decision was fair. During the hearing for Anthony’s bond, Howard asked to have it lowered to $150,000.
