Leo Ross, a twelve-year-old, was a pupil at Christ Church Church of England Secondary Academy in Birmingham, England.
The name of Birmingham schoolboy Leo Ross came to limelight as he died after he was stabbed by a teenager in the stomach while walking home through the Hall Green area of Birmingham from school on Tuesday afternoon.
The 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with the murder of Leo Ross and a series of other charges.
The victim’s family paid tribute to their “amazing, kind, loving boy”.
A member of the public found him wounded on a road in Shire Country Park near Scribers Lane. Leo Ross was taken to hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The suspect was arrested hours after the attack. He was charged with Leo’s murder as well as six additional assaults, West Midlands Police said.
On January 21, he is also accused of assaulting a woman and for possession of a bladed article.
The boy has been remanded into custody to appear at Birmingham magistrates’ court on Monday.
Leo was a student at Christ Church, Church of England secondary academy in Yardley Wood.
Executive headteacher Diane Henson at Leo’s school in a tribute described his death as a tragedy.
Leo, who was a lively and happy young man, had many very good friends.
He was just a lovely and bright member of the school community.
