American professional football wide receiver George Malik Pickens Jr, popularly known as George Pickens, is now inactive due to a hamstring injury.
This season, the Steelers wide receiver has three touchdown catches and 850 receiving yards.
He is now inactive as he popped up on the Steelers’ practice report with a hamstring injury on Friday.
The player had been included as problematic for the rematch with the Browns.
There was optimism Pickens would be able to play; sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Saturday night.
Since being selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2022 NFL, Pickens hadn’t missed a game before Sunday.
Despite Pickens’ absence, Calvin Austin III is active after exiting the concussion protocol earlier this week.
During a game-ending Hail Mary attempt when Pickens got in a scuffle with cornerback Greg Newsome II, he made headlines in the Steelers’ Week 12 loss to the Browns.
On December 1, he also faced a fine of $20,000 for two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in the Steelers’ win against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Born on March 4, 2001, Pickens played college football at Georgia. Steelers drafted him in the 2022 NFL draft’s second round. He is known for March 4, 200 1-football wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL.
