Why was Hollywood actor Nick Pasqual arrested?

Police have arrested Hollywood actor Nick Pasqual and charged him with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed his former girlfriend multiple times in her Los Angeles home.

Pasqual, 34, known for his roles in “Rebel Moon” and “How I Met Your Mother,” faces charges of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present, and injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child’s parent, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

The incident occurred on May 23 in the Sunland neighborhood of Los Angeles, where Pasqual allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend. CNN reached out to Pasqual’s representatives for comment, but it is unclear if he has legal counsel.

The district attorney’s office did not identify the victim, but CNN affiliate KABC reported that she is a 35-year-old Hollywood makeup artist. A GoFundMe account has been created to help cover her medical expenses.

According to a press release from the district attorney’s office, Pasqual broke into his ex-girlfriend’s house despite her recently filing a restraining order against him. He fled the scene and was later detained at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas.

Pasqual is scheduled to be extradited to Los Angeles County, where he faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison if convicted. The GoFundMe page indicates that the victim is “fighting for her life” in the ICU after multiple surgeries, including one to repair severed tendons in her right arm and another to close wounds in her neck.
